The Walk

Bound with a cross and crowned with thorns,
He began his walk.
The people in the crowd cursed his name
and mocked his walk.
But his thoughts were far from the angry faces,
 the cursing,
 and the mocking.
He was thinking about why he walked.
He didn't walk for himself.
No, He had everything He could want before He chose to come to earth to walk.
He walked for all mankind,
that they would know peace and joy and eternal life through his Father and his walk.
His gaze turned toward those who cried in pain at seeing their saviour's walk.
 They were few among many
and He knew that soon they would have to pick up a cross and walk as well.
 But because He walked
first they had the promise of an eternity of peace and joy and happiness with their saviour after they had walked.
If you want to take part in Christ's gift of eternal life,
then pick up your cross and walk...
He'll be waiting for you at the end...

Precious Memories

Precious Grandchild sent from Heaven above,
Precious Grandchild received with love.
Precious memories to be made,
Precious memories that shall never fade.

With Grandma she bakes,
All sorts of cookies, candies, and cakes.
Sweeter still than all of these,
Is the love in Grandma’s eyes she sees.

Sitting upon Grandpa’s knee,
Such wisdom does she see!
Through her young and shining eyes,
She sees her Grandpa, loving and wise.

And she forever carries in her heart,
Something with which she shall never part,
Precious memories that shall never fade,
Precious memories that with her dear grandparents were made.

The Gift
Of Christmas Cheer

A little girl waits by a Christmas tree,
In hope that Santa Clause she may see.
Sleep comes to her heavy eyes,
A short time later she wakes with great surprise.
An amazing thing she does see,
Santa’s coming down her chimney!
Her young eyes sparkle at the sight,
Santa Clause with rosy cheeks, suit of red, and beard of white.
“Merry Christmas Santa” she says as her imagination begins to swirl,
And Santa replies with a smile “Merry Christmas little girl”
“You’ve been good this year I see”
“Oh yes Santa, as good as I could be”
“Well, You’ve been good its true,
And this year I have a special gift just for you”
“Hold out your hands and close your eyes,
And I’ll have for you a great surprise”
She opens her eyes to see,
An age old snow globe, which holds inside a tiny Christmas tree.
So bright is its glow,
She’s sure it’s something the world should love to know.
“The glow you see is a bit of Christmas magic and Christmas cheer,
Yours to hold throughout the year”
“For the gift of Christmas cheer,
Is a gift far too precious to have only one day a year”
And with a smile and a wink,
He’s up the chimney faster than an eye can blink.
She rushes to the window,
And her eyes search through the falling snow.
Finally she sees,
Santa’s sleigh high above the trees.
She opens the window just as he slips out of sight,
And his voice echoes through the night.
“To all I wish you the gift of Christmas cheer,
That shall last you throughout the year”
